HPN 2008 Update!
Dear Faithful HPN members,
A very Merry Christmas to all of you!
I am so thankful for you as we close out the 2008 year. God has brought amazing people into our Hollywood Prayer Network family and your involvement through our EIGHT WAYS TO PRAY has been so encouraging! Our growth in monthly emails is over 50 percent, we have now over 1,000 "I to I Prayer Partnerships", our monthly HPN KIDS Prayer Calendar is a huge hit, we've sent out thousands of our "Hollywood Tribe" DVDs and media packets, I've been asked to speak at more churches this past year than ever before and our first matching grant was met within four months. You all are AWESOME!
In fact, I have two great stories to tell you to show how God is moving in the hearts and lives of Christians all over the country, motivating them to pray for Hollywood as the world's most influential mission field. First of all I got a call this past Spring from a wonderful HPN member in Texas who said that she was throwing a Fundraiser for her child's Christian High School and Hollywood was the theme. Because she is involved with HPN she thought it would be a fun idea to give out an HPN Red 90028 wristband to every student who attended. She purchased 400 wristbands from us and put them on every table at the event. Her event was a great success, she raised money for the school and now 400 kids are wearing our wristbands, reminding them to pray for Hollywood. Isn't that incredible?!
Secondly, in June I got a call from another terrific woman on the East coast who was lining up her church's summer Vacation Bible School. She decided to use the theme of Hollywood for the week and she invited me to send
information to her so that each child and their family could know about our ministry and be challenged to pray for Hollywood. I was so excited and sent them DVDs, wristbands and information. Well, they had a great week talking about and praying for Hollywood and at the end of the week they raised money from all of the children to donate to HPN. When I received their check I cried. It was one of the most touching experiences in my ministry - knowing that small children had t he opportunity to learn about praying for the people in Hollywood and their hearts would go out to us through prayer and sacrificial giving! It was a big check from a little church, representing the hearts of all of the children, their families, and especially their VBS leader who had the vision to challenge those children to focus on Hollywood. WOW! Both of these stories show that God is using all of us to make an eternal difference in the lives of not only Hollywood Christian and non-Christian professionals, but also in Christians around the country who, some for the first time ever, are adding Hollywood to their prayer lists. Thank you sooooooo much.
Because of our thrilling growth, and despite our struggling economy and reduced budget, my little staff and I are committed to pray big prayers for what we want God to accomplish through us in 2009. In fact, I got so excited about it, I have broken down our ministry into all of the areas where we are committed to pray, put dollar amounts by them to show you what we want to raise for the upcoming year and then created a link below so that you can click to find out if you would like to personally take ownership of any particular division of HPN. You could give toward the ministry as a whole, or you could be a part of distributing our Kids Prayer Calendar, help to duplicate more of our DVDs, produce more wristbands, expand our Incognito Team or print more HPN brochures. How great it would be to get more of our prayer warriors also as financial partners, joining our team here in Hollywood. Take a look, pray about whether the Lord would like you to become more invol ved, and regardless, keep praying for the people in our mission field. Please be sure to tell your friends and family to do the same.
