Pray for the Oscars!

What if Hollywood’s biggest day of the year was also your church’s biggest day of prayer . . . for media and entertainment? What if the millions of dollars promoting and covering the Academy Awards events and telecast reminded churches and their congregations to pray for media?

What if prayer groups, prayer chains, Bible studies, Sunday school classes, and believers across the country and around the world prayed for media in one mighty unified chorus on Oscar Sunday, February 26, 2012? The world will be watching . . . and believers can be praying.

It could happen and we invite you and your church to join this worldwide day of prayer for media on Academy Awards Sunday.

How can you be involved?

  • Make a special, personal effort to pray for media leaders, cultural influencers, and believers you know in media on February 26.

  • Ask God how you might invite your church to pray for media on media's big day. From announcements in the bulletin to prayer in Sunday school classes to pastoral staff modeling prayer for media there are many ways to "capture" Oscar Sunday for prayer in your local fellowship.

  • Pray for, and even "commission," believers in your church fellowship who work in media and the arts, that they might be even greater "salt" and "light" in their company, profession, and industry.

This is an idea whose time has come! Brainstorm with your church about participating in the Oscars through prayer. You’ll find more ideas online at www.mastermediaintl.org, and extra copies of the Media Leader Prayer Calendar and Sixteen Redemptive Prayers for Hollywood are available at info@mastermediaintl.org before February 10, 2012 while supplies last. To ensure delivery of large orders more than 100 please order by February 3.

What if this year's Academy Awards turned into the Church's biggest day of prayer for media ever? It could happen . . . in your church!
