  • "Man is never so tall as when he kneels before God-Never so great as when he humbles himself before God. and the man who kneels to God can stand up to anything."

Robin Quivers

Robin Ophelia Quivers is an American radio personality most notable for being the news anchor and co-host of The Howard Stern Show.  She was born in Pikesville, Maryland to Louise Quivers, a homemaker and housekeeper, and Charles Quivers, Sr., a steelworker at Bethlehem Steel. Both parents had only seventh grade educations. She has an older brother, Charles Quivers, Jr. In her 1995 autobiography, Quivers reveals that her father molested her when she was a pre-teen. He is now deceased, having suffered from Alzheimer's disease.

In 1974, Robin graduated from the University of Maryland with a major in nursing. Her first position was at the Maryland Shock Trauma facility of the Maryland Institute for Emergency Medical Services System. "I was a shock-trauma, intensive care kind of nurse, so I saw unpleasantness all the time", she said. Knowing she could use her degree, Robin joined the United States Air Force in July 1975, being appointed a Second Lieutenant. She entered active duty on January 11, 1976, where in six months was promoted to First Lieutenant, and Captain by June 1978. She was discharged a month later, though remained a member of the U.S. Air Force Reserve, with no active duty, until 1990.

After a three-year stint in the Air Force, Robin developed a taste for the radio industry when a telemarketing job put her in contact with radio stations. In 1979, she returned to Baltimore to attend the Broadcasting Institute of Maryland. She then took a news position at WIOO in Carlisle, Pennsylvania, followed by WCMB in nearby Harrisburg. She then moved back to Baltimore for a consumer reporter job at WFBR. "She tackled serious subjects, people-related issues" said Mike Golden, a station associate. She also read newscasts at mornings with Johnny Walker.

On March 2, 1981, disc jockey Howard Stern started his new morning shift at WWDC in Washington, D.C.. He wanted an on-air newscaster to riff with him in the studio. Station program director Denise Oliver played Robin a tape of Stern interviewing a prostitute on the air. "I had never heard anything like it", said Robin. "I just said, where do I sign? I’ll do anything just to meet this guy!"  She was subsequently asked to become a Stern's news anchor and the two have worked together ever since, working at WNBC (1982–1985), WXRK (1985–2005) and Sirius XM Radio as of 2006.  As a result, Robin has been hailed the most popular female radio personality in the U.S. She made her feature film debut in Howard Stern's autobiographical comedy Private Parts in 1997.

Robin currently resides in the Manhattan borough of New York City. From the mid-1990s until April 2007, her long-time boyfriend Tony was a man mysteriously referred to on the radio show as "Mr. X." On April 23, 2007, Robin called in to the Bubba the Love Sponge Show on Howard 101, announcing their separation.

Her personal health and well-being also have been the subject of discussion. In June 2007, Robin began a strict vegan diet which she says helped to increase her energy and helped her to lose 60 pounds over a six month period.

Robin has made attempts at many different hobbies including race car driving. She claimed she would be a successful racer and even challenged radio personality Bubba the Love Sponge, an experienced driver, to a future race. Robin eventually competed in the 2007 Toyota Pro/Celebrity Race '07 but was a failure finishing in last place of all drivers to cross the finish line. She took criticism on her radio show but contended she was a success because she didn't wreck, unlike George Lucas who in attempts to win the race wrecked trying to make a pass.

In early 2010, Robin revealed that 9/11 had inspired her to take better care of herself. She began to eat better, exercise and have regular colon hydrotherapy. She has been accused of being "preachy" on the air and with her tweets on the subject but she is pushing forward with what could be a Consumer's Right to Real Food law.

I couldn't find any information about Robin's attitudes toward or thoughts about God.  Jesus knows her heart.  Please pray this week that God will grab hold of her heart and draw her into a relationship with his Son, Jesus Christ.
