National Day of Prayer

The Hollywood Prayer Network, in collaboration with all of the Hollywood Entertainment Ministries, recently held the 14th Annual National Day of Prayer - Hollywood

The goal of this evening was to unite Christians working in Hollywood; to lift up the industry in which we work and live; to pray for our nation; and to give individuals a chance to connect with God through an interactive prayer experience.

Prayer stations were set up (each with a different prayer focus) that allowed participants the freedom to pray in groups, silently, or through using creative means.  A time of worship was led by "The Kry".  Additionally, a prayer team was available to pray for participants and any personal requests they had.

The event was held at the CBS Studios in Studio City. Thursday, May 3 from 7:30 p.m. - 10:00 p.m.

…About the National Day of Prayer

What is it?

It’s a day endorsed by our government and proclaimed by the President and all of the governors to pray for our country and its leaders.

1775 – The first Continental Congress called for a National Day of Prayer.

1863 – Abraham Lincoln called for such a day.

1952 – President Truman signed a joint resolution with Congress stating there would be an annual national day of prayer.

1988 – President Reagan amended that resolution designating the first Thursday in May to always be the National Day of Prayer.  This year it took place on May 3rd.
