  • "The only way to Heaven is prayer; a prayer of the heart, which every one is capable of, and not of reasonings which are the fruits of study, or exercise of the imagination, which, in filling the mind with wandering objects, rarely settle it; instead of warming the heart with love to God, they leave it cold and languishing."

Prayer for the "fire of God to fall mightily" in Los Angeles over this weekend

The Lord is working wonders in Los Angeles this weekend. I am lifting up all the HPN network and those that we pray for as God unleashes His mighty power and a great outpouring of His Spirit over the city and the whole State of California. I live in Ireland, but God has given me a heart for those in Hollywood - two young actors specifically - and after watching GOD TV this weekend (as the revival came to Los Angeles)I realised that God's plans are so much BIGGER for Hollywood, Los Angeles and California. God bless you all and may the God of MIRACLES, SIGNS and WONDERS not just touch, but "grip" our hearts again this weekend and also the hearts of all those we pray for. Debra:)

Please pray God's hand be with those working on the film "Under Jakob’s Ladder"

Please pray for the production and constant inspiration of the production "Under Jakob's Ladder" Here's the synopsis: "UNDER JAKOB'S LADDER Soviet Ukraine, 1940. As 60-year-old Jakob struggles with his growing sense of worthlessness, he agrees to the request of a neighbor to speak the Lord’s Prayer at her brother's grave. It is that prayer that leads to an ominous knock at the door later that night. Jakob's home is ransacked by the secret police, and he is taken from his wife and granddaughter Marta. Thrown into a Soviet prison cell, his first night includes the seemingly senseless and capricious execution of one of his fellow political prisoners. But even under the threat of death and torture, Jakob begins to find meaning for his life by forming a music chorale with the prisoners. When the man responsible for Jakob's arrest ends up a prisoner, Jakob must find out what he's really made of and if he's ready for forgiveness. more info: http://www.cubecity.org/ujl_synopsis.htm http://www.mandy.com/1/cast3.cfm?v=28573454

Raising capital for a small record label

Hi, my name is Heather and a run a small up and coming record label called Volcanic Records. Being a pop singer/songwriter myself I always had a dream to help other artists and bands dreams come true in the music industry besides my own. I've always wanted to give back and share the success. When volcanoes erupt they destroy everything in it's path, but out of that is the most fertile soil in the world. That's what I hope to see Volcanic Records do - destroy all the negativity in the business and make a clear path for positivity to grow and flourish. That's sorta where the name, Volcanic Records, came from. That and it's hot, explosive, and downright catchy! Anyways, I began this label in Chicago prior to moving to Los Angeles in 2006. Since I moved to LA I've balancing these musical pursuits with nanny jobs to pay the bills. Last year I wrote up my business plan very extensively for the first time, realizing I needed funding for my label, since I can not do this all my own if I want to see it grow. That's awfully difficult to do, coming from an artist type! Anyways, two months ago I lost my last nanny job, so I'm living off my credit cards and help from family back at home until something new comes up. In the meantime I've still been working very hard to raise capital for Volcanic. My prayer request is for financial aid, more so for the record label than myself personally. I've been in talks with one particular potential investor who has a lot of power points in the entertainment industry period, for quite some time now and I feel like I'm hanging on a cliff here waiting for a final say. I know God will provide, he always does. In fact I don't see this record label as mine, but his. He's the boss. But of course it's easy to wonder the when's, who's, how's, where's, what's, etc. Please pray for God to come through and provide soon for his little record label, that can!

Steven Curtis Chapman and his family

Daughter of Christian music star killed by car May 22, 2008, 6:30 AM EST The 5-year-old daughter of Grammy-winning Christian music star Steven Curtis Chapman was struck and killed Wednesday by a sport utility vehicle driven by her brother, authorities said. The girl, Maria Sue, was hit in the driveway of the family's home Wednesday afternoon by a Toyota Land Cruiser driven by her teenage brother, said Laura McPherson, a spokeswoman for the Tennessee Highway Patrol. The brother, whose name and exact age weren't available, apparently did not see the girl, McPherson said. No charges are expected. "It looks like a tragic accident," she said. Several family members witnessed the accident, which happened in Williamson County just south of Nashville. The girl died later at Vanderbilt University Medical Center in Nashville, hospital spokeswoman Laurie Holloway said. In a statement, Velvet Kelm, a publicist for Chapman, said Maria was the Chapmans' youngest daughter. Chapman, who is originally from Paducah, Ky., and his wife have promoted international adoption and have three daughters from China, including Maria. They also have three biological children. The singer's Web site says the couple was persuaded by their oldest daughter to adopt a girl from China. The experience led the family to adopt two more children and create Shaohannah's Hope, a foundation and ministry to financially assist thousands of couples in adoption. The Chapmans did missionary work at Chinese orphanages in 2006 and 2007, according to the Web site. "After our first trip to China, my wife and I knew our lives were changing — our eyes and hearts were opening to how big God really is, and we have wanted to experience more of that," Chapman says on the Web site. "We've really wondered whether or not we should just go to China and stay there. But I don't think so. I believe God is saying, 'I want you to go, get your heart broken, your eyes opened, and then take this story back to the church in America and around the world.'" The 45-year-old singer also has released a book about being a father titled "Cinderella: The Love of Daddy and his Princess." He has won five Grammy awards and 54 Dove awards from the Gospel Music Association, according to Kelm To my warriors thank you for praying please remember: prayer is one of the greatest things we can do. Prayer produces results; it shows God that you care. It's a verbal declaration of what we'd like to see change.
